Katherine (Katie) Fimbrez, MS, LPC

Katherine “Katie” Fimbrez is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas who brings experience in both school counseling and private practice to her work with clients. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Texas A&M University. Katie’s background allows her to bring a thoughtful understanding of the many factors that shape emotional well-being, relationships, and personal growth.

Life can move through seasons that feel heavier, more confusing, or simply different than we expected. Reaching out for support is an important first step, and Katie creates a warm, genuine, and supportive space where clients can feel comfortable showing up as they are. She believes therapy is a collaborative process—one that allows clients to explore their experiences openly, better understand themselves, and move toward healing and growth at a pace that feels right for them.

Katie works with older children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. She supports clients navigating anxiety, life transitions, interpersonal challenges, and questions surrounding personal values and direction. Her goal is to help clients develop greater self-understanding, emotional balance, and healthier ways of coping, communicating, and connecting with others.

Her approach is collaborative and client-centered, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Adlerian principles. Katie recognizes that mental health is influenced by the many interconnected parts of our lives, including relationships, family, work, community, and personal interests. She helps clients explore how past experiences may continue to influence the present while also developing practical tools and intentional ways of moving forward. Through this process, Katie works alongside clients to build insight, strengthen coping skills, reconnect with their strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Outside of the therapy room, Katie enjoys staying active through working out, traveling, and discovering new coffee spots—especially when there is a good iced latte involved. She believes that meaningful relationships, enjoyable experiences, and time spent outside of our responsibilities are an important part of overall well-being. Katie brings that same belief into her work, encouraging clients to create lives that feel not only manageable, but meaningful and fulfilling.
